Hi! I’m a clarinet and saxophone tutor with 10 years of teaching, performing and arts administration experience. I gained first class honours in my Bachelor of Music degree from the Elder Conservatorium of Music in 2013. I have spent time as Principal clarinettist with various organisations around Adelaide such as Co-Opera, AdYO and as the clarinet section leader of the Adelaide Wind Orchestra. Throughout my career, I have appeared as a soloist with the Unley and Norwood Symphony Orchestras as well as the Adelaide Wind Orchestra. As an advocate for new Australian music, I now have a focus on commissioning and performing new works both as a soloist and with my clarinet chamber ensemble ‘Eclectica’. I also work with the Australian Music Examinations Board (SA&NT) and teach privately outside of school hours.

As a teacher, I try to pay particular attention to teaching mindfully, with the aim to have students learn the art of loving both music and its process. I am aware that every student is different and always endeavour to cater my teaching style to meet everyone’s different needs.

From beginner level, I aim to give students the best introduction to music to help develop a well-rounded education and a strong foundation of basic technique on their instrument. As students learn to master the basics, we then work together on developing their individual interpretation and knowledge of music. I am experienced in teaching in the classical, jazz and modern styles, while also making it an enjoyable and relaxed experience. If required, I have experience working with the AMEB exam system as well as year 12 SACE Music.

In an effort to keep students learning new skills, I involve students in ensemble playing and offer various performing opportunities throughout the year. At the end of each year, students are also invited to participate in my end of year concert.

If you feel that can help you in your musical journey, don't hesitate to contact me via my contact page. I’d be happy to answer any questions you have or set up a trial lesson to have a chat in person.
